What does becoming a Brown Girls Climb local leader mean?

Brown Girls Climb aims to lead through example in how we organize, collaborate, and communicate for the betterment of our community. We strive to decolonize our approach to leadership through collaboration and communication. Starting with our national leadership team, we work diligently to understand ourselves, our biases, and needs with the goal of serving and supporting one another better. This approach requires a lot of relational work, humility, and a focus on collective growth.

For these reasons, we ask for a year long commitment for local leaders who would like to start or join a chapter in their area. We feel this provides time to develop relationships within the leadership team and within your local community. We also hope to support a leadership space that fosters your own goals and ideas to bring radical joy and change in the climbing community.
